93 DX protege, 7000 rpm redline??!

I thought the dx protege's had the 6000 rpm redline but on this site it says the dx's have a 7000 redline. Why does the tach redline at 6000 then? thanks...

the redline stays the same, it's that you'll have a tach with the LX cluster.

yeah you can get a "convenience package" with the DXs that include the tachometer. Also you get cupholders, cassette radio, and a couple of other goodies that I've forgotten

The stock tachs have been known to be way off. My LX has the fuel cut at 7500 indicated. But it is off everywhere else (reads 3750 at 70mph...it should be about 3500 or so.).

My tach would lead me to believe the fuel cutoff is closer to 7800....

yeah my sohc seems to have a fuel cut at around 6300 also. how do you raise the redline on an engine. when i finally do my swap this is one of the first things i wanted to spend more money on to make sure i could rev up to compete with the hawndaz, instead of having to shift like a bigass 18 wheeler all the time.
