Axle Removal Q

Allright guys I'm having a difficult time getting both of my axles out of the tranny. I have taken them out before with no problems, just a little prying and they've come right out, but now
the SOB's will not come out. I have messed with them for over an hour now and no luck on either side................Any suggestions????

I replaced the driver side axle recently, and it took quite a bit to pop it out of the the trans. I took a long screw driver, wedged it in between the trans and the axle or cv joint and kicked it really hard. Stone age style, but it works. The longer the tool wedged in there, the easier it will be to pop it out.
