BLT Race Car Stage 2

BLT Race Car Stage 2
Well I am just about finished with stage 2! I dropped the motor in last weekend and I am finishing up the little bits here and there tonight. I fired it up for the first time (open exhaust) and boy did it sound mean... very smooth running...
We also decided to take a chisle to the passenger side floor, got rid of all the sound deadening material up on the firewal and under the seat. Removed the brackets on the center console and welded up a new bracket for the steering column. We'll finish the sound deadening material another weekend.
I still have a few panels and seatbelts to take out of the car...Along with the removal of the sunroof assembly, we estimated the weight of a seatbelt motor/track to be about 9lbs. And just the front passenger side material weighed in at 8lbs.
I still have to throw on the lower tie bars, and get the rear sway bar in. I should be able to do most of it tonight and take the car for a test drive down the street. The car now sits a bit higher..lol..
Pics will be up in the next few days on my website.

You said you're keeping the engine NA for now. Have you done anything to the motor yet, or is it a stocker for now?
What are the plans for the motor, EMS, fuel, internals, oil, and others?
Details, man! Details!
Hope the project continues to go well.

The motor has been refreshed. I replaced the Timing belt, water pump, gaskets, o-rings, and cleaned out the head and injectors. It is from a '94 Protege and has the 4-1 tubular manifold on it.
Plans are uncertain for now. I think the N/A power will be sufficient once I get the car all ready for the track. I haven't had a chance to wind it out yet, still have to break in the clutch and get the exhaust welded up. But it felt pretty strong after I adjusted the timing. Plus I think the ECU needs to learn the motor again for its new home.
I took a corner at about 15 last night and I felt the back end break loose a little.... It should be fun once I get into the 80-100mph corners

Yeah. With all that weight out of there, it should be quite tail-happy.
I'm planning on building a nice NA engine, but I won't be able to get to it for another three months or so due to expenses. :\
Are you going to take that thing to Solo1 events, Solo2 events or both?
