Which DynoMax Super Turbo muffler to get?
DynoMax makes three round mufflers. Which will work best in a 92 lx with stock piping (1 7/8"?) and original muffler and resonator? My options are the following:
1. 17742: 2" ID in and out; 14" long; offset in, offset out
2. 17783: 2" ID in and out; 18" long; offset in, offset out
3. 17741: 2 1/4" in and out; 14" long; offset in, offset out
Who has the best prices on DynoMax mufflers, including shipping?
Finally, how much horsepower, if any, can I expect to gain?
Thanks in advance!

Well, it's look like the first one would be the best fit since the stock muffler is also 14" long and the 2" inlet should just slip over 1 7/8" stock pipe. The stock muffler also has a left-sided offset coming in, but I can't remember about the out. My old one had dual pipes out the middle which had a curve to the right and down to come out under the bumper, iirc.
I don't think you'll gain anything hp wise, but you may notice the engine revs a little better.

i just ordered the dynomax part 17742. it's gonna be here this afternoon, but does anyone have a general idea of how much to expect to pay to have it put on? i have an appointment at midas later today for an estimate. all i need is to have the old one cut off, the new one welded on and hangers put on right?

ok all, i just got the super turbo muffler put on. it was 50bucks from napa and 50 from midas to put it on. it's not bad sounding. not as loud or deep as i was expecting, but not horrible. now i just gotta take it on the freeway and see how it sounds at 70-80mph. hopefully i'll notice a little gain by the "seat of the pants" dyno.

yup, $53.26 for the muffler and then $45 to have it welded on and have hangers put on. took about 45min at a midas store. i'm starting to like the sound. i've had it for 2 weeks now. it's not as loud as i had hoped, but it's got a pretty nice growl to it. and it's not annoying on the highway.
