engine rebuild questions

From: I live in sedalia, MO
how good will my car run when i get the engine rebuilt
if i get my engine rebuilt what would would the people do like what kind of parts will they put in? will my car act like a new one ?and will i loose gain or have the same horsepower... will the gas mileage go up or down too? well those are my questions thanks...
