It would be cheaper just to build up your BP, NA....

OR you could turbo your BP for much cheaper than doing the FS-ZE

This is all in theory, but there has never been anyone trying to do that swap. IMO, the BP is a MUCH better base for power than the FS engine (turbo or NA)... Sorry 3rd gen guys!

Depends on what you're trying to do and how much power you want to make.

The VJ-21 or VJ-22 (can't remember which) came with the stock GTX engine, the VJ-23 came on the GTR engine. The VJ-23 is a little bit bigger, i.e. more possible flow.

You could probably get a custom exhaust manifold and use about any turbo you want though, but the VJ-22 and 23 are an excellent start.

by turboing a bp, we're talking turbo, custom exhaust manifold (what exactly is this... like what diameter... do any aftermarket companies make any? what brands to look for?), also an intercooler, a blow off valve or something.. ELABORATE just one time for me, what it means to build up a bp to a turbo... what it takes.
peace

Texas must suck for Mazdas in JYs then.

I know of about 8 JYs that I go to in Dallas, and only 2 have a few Mazdas. They all want alot for Mazda parts too like they were BMW, or Volvo parts or something. Pisses me off. I had to look for like 4 or 5 months just to find the passenger side mirror for my 323, and an LX cluster for the Tach.

Seriously it blows.

If anyone in TX knows some good JYs let me know. PLEASE.

I know about car part. com, but there is nothing like going down and wandering through the old wrecks, and finding and awesome discovery.

not to mention that the vj-23 is one of the rarest turbo's around ,, finding one is like finding a 27 year old female virgin.....
well you get the idea
they don't reside in every yard

It can when you need heavy parts like a hood and fenders.........

That and the only way you can order from these people that I have seen is through ebay, and I like to walk around and see all the potential in a JY. Even though I usually spend more when I do go "window" shopping.

there's been a couple previous posts about that recycler, they will sell to you, but if you don't spend a certain amount (i think it's around $1200, i don't really remember) they'll charge you an extra $50 on top of your order.

I'm pretty sure that's a different place, somewhere in texas, not the mazda recycling place... Who knows, though... I haven't ordered anything from either place.
