good new ... enegine mount mods for 323 and .....
Well when shifting gears in my 323 (auto) (still fun ) the motor tends to move around a little more than I like .. so anyway I ordered the energy suspension motor mounts for a ZX2 a while ago .. got a set for the protege and a set for the 323 ...
Well I pulled the engine mount and I was going to fill it with silicone, but then I rembered that the engine bushings were inside .
I come out with the busings . put them next to the engine mount(front) and it is a perfect match .. I was like Holly... so I stuff em in there and use my foot and my body weight to make sure they really get in there and the mounted it back up in the car...
I tried to get the rear mount done ,, but let me tell you .... I went through so much trouble .. One bolt came out .. the other one stripped . and I had to use my dremel to cut it out and what not .. then to get the mount nut lossened , the one going through the bushing , that was another hassle.. I just got fed up, packed it up and called that a wrap .. IT WAS NOT THAT SERIOUS... I filled the side mount up with urethane ,, and I am letting it cure till like tuesday or tomorrow ... depends ..
But so you guys know at leasts the 323 guys, I don't know about the 1st gen protege's .. would have to see a pic of your mount bushing .. but it worked in my 1.6L ...
sweeet

I may be interested, but what's the point? I don't plan on having the engine in there much longer, it doesn't make any power anyways. Not trying to be rude, but I didn't even get a cone filter for it just because if I don't want the engine in there much longer, why spend money on it?

the cone filter is like 20 bucks on ebay ... lol
plus you can use the mounts in the BP motor ,, with the energy suspension bushings..
Anyway it's a sweet mod.. My motor won't come out for now , but I intend to have fun with the car , for what it has installed

Now try using JB weld stick for complete solid engine mounts... with some huge washers on each side of the mount to hold the weld stick in (get them at your local truck stop)...
Well that is if you want to go extreme on things... **** won't move then.

The engine is much stedier now , before when you started it you could practically hear the engine move. Know it just starts .. I used to be able to slightly move the motor with my 2 hands .. not any more.. The rear engine mount I guess is not that big of deal . I could not get the energy suspension in that motor mount because I would have had to lower the crossmember aka the whole motor and tranny and it is just not that serious..
Aceleration feals pretty good , the car was cold so you know how that is lol .. slow at first .. I did not really drive around to much, no plates, .. But I have to pick up the tittle for the 323 today from the previous owner, get the insurance , then get the plates.. hahaha.
On another note. I want to get some rims for my protege . I am so frigin tired of those 13's .. god you don't know .. It is boardering embarasing with those 13's on there.. I think my next move will be a set of rims .. wheelmax has some nice rims for pretty cheap, afterall when I have a date the protege will be the car that is used .. hehehe nice fast and pretty red ...
oh well later guys

You can give it a shot... Take a look at home depot but bring the engine mount and the bolt along to make sure it will be big enough to cover the whole face of the sides of the engine mount. and that the hole in themiddle is big enough to let the bolt through... or you could dremmel the hole bigger as long as the washer was big enough to cover the engine mount face.
