handling problem!!

Can anyone tell me why under hard acceleration in 1st and 2nd gear in a curve my car is going right to left and left to right... I feel like the car wants to get on 2 wheels !!!

My ride is a Protege '90 ... Sometimes when I take an exit on the highway too fast it does the same thing.... normally the back of my car should slip but no... it wants to get on 2 wheels .... if you want to recreate the same feeling it's easy just take a curve and then turn your steering left right left right left right ..... you'll get the same thing!

Please help ! maybe its just a simple problem ... my stabilizer bar or something like that on the rear has been fixed... then the car was handling better but now it does this weird thing....

THANX !!!

YOu may want to check your Tie rods, steering linkage, camber bolts and basically every suspension component. Also you may want to take a look at your driving. Has it always done this?

Well, I'm not sure if you're having the same problem that I had, my 92 Protege LX was doing something similar to what you describe. When I would drive the car and turn slightly to the right (about 35-40 mph), my car would suddenly turn even sharper to the right as if I jerked the steering wheel to the right more. If you traveled around a long slight curve to the right, every time you hit the gas to accelerate more, the car would turn "sharper" to the right. When you let off the gas, the car would return and go straight. I know this seems weird, but I took the car to a mechanic 2 or 3 times for this problem, but he couldn't find anything wrong with it. Tie rid ends were tight, bushings were fine, wheel bearings were fine, etc. I had to have my clutch, slave cylinder, and rear main seal replaced 2 weeks ago. Since that repair, my car is fine now. It doesn't wander when I'm driving and all of that weird back and forth motion when turning right is GONE!!! So.... ??? haha!

Torque steer perhaps? The rear suspension was designed to "steer" or track but worn components will make it act erratic. New struts and a better wheel and tire package will help stabilize the car under cornering.

Steering

Check your tires and your power steering, if your power steering is malfunctioning, it will pull in erratic movements.
