Headers(Racing Beat?...)

Hey all

I'm fairly new to the forum, and i've seen some talk about wanting GOOD headers for the 1st gen.

I'd like to see Racing Beat make some headers, if nothing else. They've got a good rep, they have plenty exp with the 1.8, and are well known for quality Mazda parts.
I also need CARB exempt headers since i'm in cali.
CARB exempt(for those who don't know) doesn't mean a product doesn't perform well; it simply means that the product has been tested AND shown that it doesn't increase emissions. If anything, probably more states are going to require this...

I emailed Racing Beat and got a reply back from Jim Langer that he gets 'many messages' for early gen parts, but 'unfortunately due to extremely low demand', none have been made.(seems like a contradiction to me)

Anyways, anybody else interested?got any ideas or suggesestions other than more email??
jlanger@racingbeat.com
Also wondering if a header for 1st gen would fit 2nd gen - or are some of the fittings different?

I'm going to email again and offer my stock LX as a guinea pig for however long they would need it.(i live only about 45 minutes away from their factory)
We've got to get some headers made for this car!!
I can get about everything else that i want except CARB headers!
I also might start emailing some other header makers(honda, etc.)

hows that for a long post...
