I Can Use A Msd 6t Ignition In My Protege
#7
So why then even upgrade anything? Why not just leave the car bone stock, and simply use only Napa parts?
If you slam the door on everyone that asks a question about something you don't believe in, eventually they will quit asking! When that happens, the demand for new parts goes down and the price for the few parts that are available go up!
Upgrading the ignition system is not a neccessity, but rather a thing that can be done rather inexpensively, and more for peace of mind. While upgrading these systems will not net you huge gains in performance, they are not a waste either!!! Installing better components will give you a slight boost in power, but more importantly it will make better spark. This better spark will allow for a more complete burn of the fuel mixture in the cylinder. There by making your engine more efficient. (read: better fuel mileage, quicker throttle response, and a few more HP/torque)
I personally have these "USELESS" upgrades on my car, and notice all of the traits mentioned above. For a car with 230,000 + miles on the clock that still gets 30 MPG, I would say they are worth every penny!
Just because it is not something you want to do, does NOT make it a worthless thing to waste money on...
