Thumbs down I hate this car...

Sometimes I think this is the biggest piece of sh** I have ever seen...

A few weeks ago, I was driving along and look down..my temp gauge was waay up..
I had the car serviced and the car runs fine, no cooling problems or anything...
It ran fine ...for about a week..

I go for s short drive and then head home. Im at a stop sign, and the car is idling wierd.
as Im driving along, I look down..and yet again, the temp is up..

What i dont understand is, it wants to heat up when im sitting, but i can watch the temp gauge needle go down instantly when accelerating...

Does anyone know what would solve this retarded cars problem?

Cooling fan is prolly not coming on. Start up the car, let it get warmed up, see what happens. If the fan doesn't work see if the switch or the fan itself is toast.

dude....your car is 14yrs old and it won't be problem free.

It sounds to me like your cooling system isn't working. You could have a bad engine fan, bad t-stat, low coolant, air in coolant, blown headgasket, bad waterpump, etc....

This is a SERIOUS problem if you let it go....it could cost you your engine....it's probably not an expensive repair but if you break something it could be costly for you.

Had it taken to the shop a few days ago, since i never have time to actually do anything myself.
Im thinking it was the thermostat, because after i told them what it was doing, and what i thought it might be, i got my car back and it works perfectly now, yay!

yeah me to, whether I like to admit it or not, I love the car, its a fun car, tho its an auto, it is still one of the quickest cars among the highschool parking lot, haha.

I'd love to have another one of these, i like the styling of them...but yeah...it runs, im thankful for that now.

It cools down when your moving because of the increased airflow, I`ve had that problem.
The fan switch wasn`t working

I just bought a 94 Protege LX sedan, 111k miles. Driver window is off track, there's no radio, AC blows warm, it has dents all over the place, the HOLD light flahes on the dashboard for the auto trans, the brakes grind, the steering feels as if its lost its power assist, and the speedometer doesn't work.

The car has a sunroof (that works!), along with power options. It also starts right up and doesn't burn or leak oil.

Did I mention I paid $325 for it? It's gonna be a fun project car.
