Im a total noob
Hey guys, I've spent a couple days reading about mods on first generation Protege's. I have a 90 Protege LX, and I am very interested in installing an intake. What would I need to do step by step for achieving this? And what's an hbox?

use the search, but since your new here
you need this for a cone on your MAF

and if you wanna go further than that get a muffler shop to bend a pipe that will fit from your MAF to your injection

thnx peepz
I just wanted to say thnx again for the help. I went to the link that had the air intake filter and adapter. Im not sure how ebay works...paypal stuff...but there was a number to the place (Megan Racing in Walnut, CA near LA) and I just placed an order for a filter and adapter for my 90 Pro LX. Now I need a bigger MAF right? And a custom tube from the MAF to the Injection. Any suggestions? Thnx.

Intake to MAF
Will the new air intake cone fit onto a RX-7 MAF? Or would i need to buy a completely new filter? If that's the case, then I think i just wasted my money. Hopefully the air intake cone I got fits onto both MAF's, stock Pro and RX-7. NEbody know?

Yes, it'll fit on the RX-7 VAF - the lug patterns are the same. The difference between the two is the stock VAF has studs with nuts and the RX-7 VAF has bolts instead. Make sure you get the bolts. Also, the RX-7 VAF will need to be tuned. Mazdaspeedwest has a nice how-to on his website.
The RX-7 VAF also has a larger opening on the intake side vs. the stock one. You will need a silicone adapter for your Hbox.

Nice
Thanks for the info! Im very glad somebody told me that. Kinda relieved. Know where I can get one of those sillicone adapters? Any parts store carry them? Or special order? I'll try looking around on my day off. Thnx again.

I got my new conic intake filter today. I came home pretty late, so it's no use trying to install the thing in the dark. I'll most likely put it in after work tomorrow. I'll let you know how it feels after I install it. Damn, I didnt think the filter was that big. Pictures can be deceiving.
