mazda gtx Gear box tips

i thought i would post something up for all the gt-x,gt-r ,gt-ae owners i have gone through my share of gear boxs (seven) and centre diffs and i kinda come up with a combo that works

weld plates on to the casing and bell housing to give it strength that will stop it from flexing, then shot pee 1st 2nd 3rd gears and change to a bigger main bearing or up grade to a dog box and put in and a trans oil cooler in place to keep things nice and cool as for centre diffs just take the parts out and get them shot peed or cryo freeze them this will hold up to anything up to 350hp. i use my gtx/gtr for drag racing and it hold ups up to the hard launchs and high power if you intend to use your gtx as a drag car this is the first thing you should look at before you do anything else. a dog box setup will set you back about $7000 nz half that if you live in the usa if you are interested in gtx parts or help just message me

Where did you weld the plates on the trans? and did you use the original F Series box?
