probe vaf ?

seems like everyone is playing with vaf's lol

i was at a junk yard and ran across a ford probe with a 2.2l.
the vaf looked alot like our protege's but bigger (3 in dia). so i bought it to see if it would work. needles to say im having the same problem as jedwards242000

any-one ever try the prob-vaf before.

I haven't tried a Probe vaf but I have tried and am still using an early 80's Toyota Supra vaf. Even though it uses a V-6 engine, it still works with our cars but requires tuning like the RX-7 one does.

nothing is wrong with me stock vaf. i just wanted to go bigger.

with the probe vaf on it stalls/chokes when i give it gas. so i put the stock vaf back on and it runs fine (yes i tried to tune it). so im guessing the probe vaf is bad.

so are you saying the rx7 vaf is bigger than 3 inces in diameter.

Not doubting you guys here, but do you know anyone whom has had succes using an rx-7 vaf with a turboed 1.8lbp? One of the guys over on ERDT is trying to get his to work right on his. he has a GTR turbo with the GTX exhaust mani and it runs great on the stock vaf, but the rx-7 one makes it runs like crap, even if we tune it. and yes we have tried it on n/a bps and it worked fine.

thnx
