Radiator fan question/problem
When I turn my ignition off my radiator fan goes off, too, even if the engine's hot. Turn the key on, fan goes back on. If I come back 5 minutes later, the fan comes on. This doesn't seem right.
Evey other modern car I've owned runs the fan until the engine's cooled down, ignition on or off, and I assume our Protos are the same. Any idea why my won't do that?? My factory service manual doesn't have a thing about this, any ideas would be appreciated.
thanks

my car has always been like that....in fact sometimes when its been hot, i've turned the ign key back to 'on' just for the fan to run until it shuts off
but there's bound to be no harm in just turning it off; as it was evidently designed that way....

yes SOME cars are designed/set up as you described....to have the fan continue running to cool stuff off....
HOWEVER....think about it....what did we do BEFORE there were electric fans on cars? turn the car off...the fan stops...no harm.
My 2002 Pro does the same thing....the fan does NOT run after you turn the ignition off.
I am sure its just supposed to be that way. :{D
