Question Replacing the radiator

My radiator is cracked at the output hose, and it needs to be replaced. Where is the best place to buy a new radiator? How hard of a job is this? It looks like I just need to disconnect the two hoses and pull it out, and refill the coolant. Does anyone have any recommendations or tips for me?

I got a new rad last year off eBay, I believe the company was www.radiators.com. I paid $105 with shipping.

Give 'em a try.

$105 for a radiator off eBay? New ones at radiators.com are only $115. How has yours been working? Did you have any problems putting it in? Does anyone else know anything about this company?

EZEZEZEZEZEZEZEZEZEZ!!!

yep, just do what you said - hardest part was getting the old hoses off, esp the bottom one...

i tried to find my paperwork - can't remember, but it may have been radiators.com...i did a search for radiators and ordered the cheapest - $115 sounds right...no problems since

Thanks. I think Radiators.com is the winner, unless I find something cheaper in the next couple of days. The Bar's Leaks sealing gunk worked like a charm for a good month, but after a double-tranny replacement (1st replacement tranny was no good) the leak got started again. I didn't really want to dump too much more of that gunk in if I was going to have to replace the radiator anyway. I don't want the engine to get that stuff stuck in the coolant channels. Looks like I've got a project for the next weekend that isn't freezing.

The only problem I had was the original rad they sent me was made of brass and damn heavy. Oh, and it didn't fit, either. (Remember, this was off eBay and I didn't order it to spec like you will.) They sent me a pre-paid UPS label to send it back and sent the correct, plastic radiator. So make sure it's plastic like the stock one. Otherwise it works great.

I picked up a 91 rad at a local salvage yard for $45, 2 years ago, which they even "cleanly" pulled for me and cleaned it too.

New OEM upper and lower hoses, IIRC $12 each.

no problems, no hassles.

Me and my dad just replaced mine last month, under the lil hose attached to the radiator cap was cracked. Only took us a lil over an hour to change it out. I also called around and found a new one for around $125
