some other brands are.

DC sports,
Comptech,
Chiraka

Chiraka is hella cheap if you can find the applicatioin you are looking for. they go for about 170 from Oreilly's and that is list price.

First, remove the stock exhaust system and replace with 2.25" catback design, or mandrel bent exhaust system complete with resonator (at front) and say... your choice of muffler: Dynomax, or Magnaflow at the rear.

Now that you've got the gases OUT you must get MORE AIR IN. Try either a conical filter conversion coupled with a K&N Filtercharger,... OR do what I did: I removed the noise chamber that you will find running from your stock air box, and inverted the rubber neck Downward to draw cooler air from behind the bumper skin (you can use some Choke Pre-heater flex-tubing that you can obtain from any automotive store, usually made out of ribbed flexable aluminum) and you will have to route it down behind the bumper skin. A Note Of Warning: DO NOT DIRECT THE HOSE DIRECTLY INTO THE AIR FLOW AS THIS CAN SUCK UP WATER IN A BOUT OF RAIN, AND FOUL YOUR INJECTORS. This has been working well for me and has produced noticeable results.

The next step I took was to increase the 'FIRE' to the engine by the addition of a Jacobs FC-1000 Fire Control ignition module and secondary trigger complete with C4 Jacobs coil and 8.5mm ingition wire set. Awsome power and mileage increases! Also, try indexing the sparkplugs: This indexing kit is available from most 'speed' shops.

Good hunting! Go see this ite too: www.groharlem.tripod.com Very informative dudes!
stock airbox flows enough air that however much air comes in, doesn't make a difference. You have to remove the airbox altogether to get power. Get a filter adadpter or RX7 AFM. I know, I've dynoed them.....

K&N got the same power as a Fram filter too

dont do the rx7 vaf swap ull waste ur money its only good from 6000 to 7500 rpm ur redline is at 6000 so ull see no power
they dont make turbo headers for dx(sohc) so ull have to get those custom, and yes the shifter from a 3rd gen fits and its shorter too

this is a myth. Everyone keeps talking about how the RX7 airflow meter only gets you power above 6000rpm, but how many of you have actually tried it, and dynoed it? Well, I have. I understand that it works better at higher rpm, and it benefits the DOHC more than the SOHC, but look at my dyno chart.

look at those fat torque gains from 2500-3700rpm. And the power gains start at 4500rpm. The only mod between those two runs was the AFM. We had to adjust the spring tension, but as you can see, it got more than just 6000+ power.....

We tuned my AFM til we got the best power. But still, as you can see, it wasn't just power above 6000.....

1 click on the spring made a difference of 4hp.

yeah the cheapest way is a nitrous setup. i suggest that you read through the forces induction/nitrous section of the fourm, a lot of infomation is there, you hust need to take the time and browse the section.

a nice dry kit set about 50hp would do you wonders. Just make sure your fuel system is up to the challenge and your plugs are fresh and a range colder.....enjoy the burnt tire smell.

if you lose the resinator box... then yes you lose some torque.
