SOHC Buildup??

Allright from what i understand the weakest part in the SOHC is the crank because it is cast, right? Would the crankshaft out of an LX work? I am just wondering because i have seen at least one person put the DOHC Head on their SOHC Block. What about the Pistons, and Rods. Are they the same as the DOHC's? The injector size is also different, correct? I'm asking because i'm trying to figure out if i really want to swap in a DOHC. I plan on going the KL-ZE route in the long run, but am tired of haveing a car that runs 17's now.
Does anyone know at what point the SOHC starts running into problems with the motor blowing? I plan on maybe putting a 25-50 shot of nitrous on the motor (SOHC).

Also let me see if i have this correct. A dry set-up is when the Nitrous Mixes w/ the air, as opposed to a wet set-up mixing the Nitrous w/ the fuel??

How big of a shot do you think the Stock SOHC can hold?
What would be the best things to do w/ the SOHC to make sure i can still drive the damn thing.

Thanks.

ok i'll post there, so the SOHC is just as strong as the DOHC?
I wanted to ask here because It pertains to the 1st gen, i thought that maybe the Forced Induction/Nitrous Forum would mainly have the 3rd gen peeps in there. I haven't really any 1st gens with anything other than turbos here though, especially with the LX's. I just wanna find something to tide me over, that isn't going to be way more expensive, untill i can get the KL.

I would think that running anything bigger than maybe 45-shot dry is a nono unless you upgrade your fuel pump. Once you do that then you should be able to spray 65-75 shot safely... but I hope you have an aftermarket clutch

I think i'm just gonna go with a 25 or 30 shot. Probably gonna get one of those "Sneaky Pete" kits. Hide the bottle somewhere.

So the crank should be just fine? What about the pistons and rods? I'm asking here because this pertains to the first gen SOHC motor.

I know I'm not the expert on these motors (hell I don't even know the engine code yet) but if the crank is anything like the BP crank then you shouldn't have much to worry about.
