spark plug gap?

hi,
i replaced my spark plugs a few days ago (well my dad did, i just watched ), anyway, he set the gap on the first one, but we forgot to on the other 3 (we got distracted with something else), but the car is running fine

im just wondering, what effects would a larger spark plug gap have?

oh, does anyone know what the gap is in mm?

i forgot my gap for my plugs, but i could have sworn it was at .042 inches... or 1.0 mm's...err, i think i'm smoking something, someone correct me. basically, too large of a gap could cause misfire, engine knocking, or i would imagine that if all the plugs are mis-gapped, it wouldn't run at all. thats my ASSUMPTION, but if anyone knows a better answer than i've given, please correct me.
peace

0.040 I think.

To large a gap will put extra strain on the ignition system. I'm not really sure how severe this is, but it would probably be a good idea to take the 3 plus out and gap them properly. It will take all of 5 minutes.

I happen to have my Mazda 323/323 Protege Owner's Manual in front of me. If you turn to page 9-3, there's is a section on the bottom right that shows a chart called "Electrical System." In it, it descibes the Spark-plug gap at 0.043 (+0.000/ -0.004) in, and 1.1 (+0.0/ -0.1) mm. So I hope that helps in clearly up any confusions on how much you need to properly gap your spark plugs.

Depends on engine type but usually between 40 & 43.i personally would remove & check them as the gap can be much greater when new out of the box.you are looking at problems with your car in the long run,it doesn't pay to skip any type of service.Thats why you service them correct milage etc.ABC IT'S THAT SIMPLE
