I have noticed a little bit of gain in power but i dont think that it is worth the money i spent (175.00). I do have a Stereo system I have 2 Kicker amps, Kenwood eq, 2 12" polk audio woofers. I have noticed that when i have my lights on and i am playing my system the lights kinda dimm out with the beat. I have not had problems with the alternator (knock on wood) or anything else.

the site says:
"Gains as high as 10 to 28 horsepower have been seen. "

WTF ??? ...

I don't know bro.........if they f#ck with your alternator then I would spend the money on something else.........
Anyone have them on their Pro ????

true, but an intake is much cheaper, and the cat-back.......well
at least it makes your car sound nicer.............and all those things don't do damage to other things, which is my bigges concert.

how about cams ??? ............anyone have those on their Pro ?

No, dont do pullies if you have a big system.

It screws with the oil pump because it takes away the harmonic balancer on the oem crank pulley.
The issue is highly debated on Twin Turbo forums. On N/A cars however there has been no proof of the pulley causing any damage. On a high output TT car the pulleys have been blamed for damaged crank bearings due to the loss of the harmonic balancer, this can also cause all hell to break loose...Vibrations in the interior of the motor is baaaad, like Jesse said. One point to consider is that even with out a harmonic balancer the UD pulleys will have less run out than our high mileage pulleys, which have been proven to increase the amout of measurable run out over time. I don't think our pro's on avg. are going to exceed the out put of a TT car so the pulley should be an OK mod. It is by far the best mod you can do for the $, with gains of 2.7 hp per reduced lb. Many people have put on 80K+ hard driven miles with no problem, others however smoke their crank bearings a few months after install>>> usually on TT's. I plan to install one on my N/A Z32 when I do the 60K maint. You guys can wake up now!!! Sorry about the length.

I was simply stating that there is no evidence that the pulleys will/won't do any damage. If you can prove that the pulley causes damage, then hey...you deserve a Nobel prize cause nobody's proved it yet. I know that I can't prove that they won't cause damage, but I do know that the oem pulleys will have measurable run out due to age... Everything is effected by age. My point was that a NEW UD pulley will be closer to spec than an oem pulley with 150,XXX + miles on it, that's just common sense!

On the serious side I would bet the % is 1% vs. 99% one of those engines had an UD pulley on it! 1% in relation to having a pulley More BP's are dead due to poor maintenance or accidents. Sorry, no Nobel Prize for you

Ok! Your intitled to your opinion, it's your right so I'll respect that. eace:

Wink can i jump in??...oh y not!

sounds like zchild's done some good research, and psuedo knows plenty 'bout the BP's... I ppreciate BOTH of your thoughts...

i looked at posts/threads on the miataforum a while back about these - seemed like the consensus was that they COULD BE ok on a mildly modded NA 1.8, but NOT ok for FI 1.8's

THIS is what I GOT from readin those posts

PERSONALLY, i decided not to get it - not worth the risk TO ME....i decided if i was goin to lose 'ngine weight, i would go the way of the lightweight flywheel....

Pulleys work differently on different kinds of engines. It may be bad on miatas or pros but there are other makes that it might work for.

Pulleys are cool.... lookin, but I'm just gonna keep on lookin at em.
