Urethane engine mounts ? ? ?W
Where I can find urethane engine mounts for my 323 1.8 Dohc engine, specialy the tranny/engine mounts? Please I'm sick of broken mounts.

I'm just curious, but aside from the broken motor mount thing, how many people would be intersted in a similar solution to a filled or stiffer engine mount for the 1.8 DOHC? A torque brace.
My sister's boyfriend has designed a brace for the 7th gen Celica (GT, GTS) as well as the new Toyota Matrix. He has gotten over 90 orders for his brace from newcelica.org, and many of the people said it was the best $50 they've ever spent on their car.
Basically it reduces the ammount of engine twist as you're on and off the throttle. This seemingly increases throttle responce and crispness, reduces wheel-hop, and reduces the 'clunk' in between shifts. Downsides include slight-vibrations at idle... and possible drivetrain wear at high torque levels (high-power turbo engines).
Like I said, everyone (except a few people) absolutely love their braces. The few that didn't expected a bit too much from it, like a filled engine mount, but it's a HUGE difference for $50.
If there is any interest I'll create a seperate thread about the possibility of getting one of these developed for our cars, depending on the ammount of people interested.

From the looks of where that brace is mounted, on the passenger side. It would work on the 1st gen protege/323.. but not the 2nd gen Protege. I really can't see it working on the 2nd gen due to engine compartment space... The 3rd gen may be a close call , but I don't think it would work for them either .. as they have about as much side room over there as the 2nd gen....
I would definetly be willing to try a fitment on my 2nd gen though .. that would be hot .. How much are they btw

Unfortunately the most interest would probably be for first gen DOHC instead of the 2nd gen, just because there seem to be more modded 1st gens out there. I'd like to get a hold of a 3rd gen to take to him, I'm sure there would be a boatload of interest for them.

If there is anyone in the Central PA area that has a 3rd gen 2.0 and wants to donate it for an afternoon, he may indeed be interested in making them for the pros. I already have the first gen DOHC covered, hehehe I will bring it up to him, see if he's up for it.

i might be interested as well, as long as they are custom made for the Pro. I'm not going to try and "fit" one it there. Besides, the mounting point to the body is VERY important, as all the torque the brace eliminates to the engine, it puts right back on that mounting spot. So it's gotta be a hella strong mount point.
