will not turn over
i just got done with an engine swap and now that i go to start it nothing happens, just an initial click when power is supplied. i know that it could be a variety of things such as, ground, starter or the nuetral saftey switch. i was just wondering if anyone else had the same problem?

Make sure the engine can turn over freely, get to the crank pulley and turn it towards the front of the car. If it doesnt turn over by hand, then youve got a serious problem...could by hydrolocked (water or fluid filled up the cylinders) or a seized engine. With a voltmeter, check the battery.... turn on the headlights, wait five minutes...it should read about 12.6. If thats ok make sure youve got a good connection to the starter. If that checks out ok, then its possibly you need a new starter. Hope thats a start.

If you JUST hear a click, check the battery. Is it good? Then check all grounds.
If they're good, get a screwdriver and try to bypass the solenoid. Still doesn't work?? pull the starter and the battery, get some heavy gauge wires and hook them directly from the battery to the starter. the starter should spin, if it doesn't get a new one, or get it rebuilt.
Its not the neutral safety switch. If it was you wouldn't even hear the click.
Nor is it hydrlock. I drove a van with ablown headgasket for 6 months. When a cylinder got hydrolocked, you could hear the starter click and engage the flywheel, but then it wouldn't turn.
