ZX2 front swaybar????

Can anybody give me some insight for the ZX2 front swaybar???
I heard this can be used as a possible upgrade? i believe its a 1 inch bar too... but im also concerned wheather or not i'll have better results with the stock front sway bar... and the 3/4" add-on suspension techniques front swaybar????..... If anyone can lend an opinion or give me some advice it would be greatly appreciated.

as of now im just concerned about the front...im almost 100% positive on the rear suspension techniques swaybar. (7/8")

your a brave man to want to swap the front sway bar

but the rule of tumb is, bigger in front, more understeer, bigger in the rear, more oversteer. same size frt/rr for a neutral/balanced car.

Personally, i'd go with the ST front add-on and the Quickor 1" or just the ST frt and rr.

Also keep in mind, that the 1" rear bar will put a great amount of stress on the not only the mounting U bends, but the actual frame mounts and suspension arm. Search for a recent thread by Davard to see just how it can break stuff.

well off the bat im not positive on installing the bigger front bar...but its a possibility indeed... Im currently in search of a new donor car (323) preferably....its very hard to find one in good condition. and buying one would set me back a bit on my budget for parts. so the front bar is a free upgrade from how i look at it...however it could adversley give me effects that i don't need/want.
But as is both of the axels are off of my last car and can easily have newer improved parts added with ease...before reinstalling them on the next project.
So...Im up for giving it a try...so far from my research no one has yet to try installing the bar so im still sceptical on it. but hey somebody's got to do it...
looking at aquiring another donor car next week 8/18-25/03 so in about two weeks time i should have some results.
I'll keep everybody posted.

P.S. If anybody knows the stock front swaybar diameter please post it.
and if anyone out there has any experience with installing the front zx2 bar on their car also post some results.

Yeah i've seen the thread that Davard posted about his rear bar...
but keep in mind that the ZX2 bar is for the front... instead of the rear... so it has an even greater possibility of breaking things. but im pretty confident that it won't.... plus with both of the frames off of the car i can make welds and reinforce places where i think would have a tendancy to break...which after seeing some of the things that can happen I will most definitly do.
taking a look at a white 323 on tuesday of next week...... so the time it takes for me to get results out will be just as planned.

well, you must keep in mind that if you put the 1" bar upfront and a smaller bar in the rear, you WILL experience understeer (so you may get hired to plow the back 40 )

the stock Protege bars are 19mm front and 20mm and 21mm rear. 20mm came on 90-92 (i think, may have been 90-91) after that the 21mm rear bar was used.

Going to a large front bar will offset some bodyroll, and the related positive camber that comes from it. Might not be too bad an idea...

If you ever get coilovers though, go a bit soft on the front, since you'll already have the big front bar to take up some spring rate.
Only 92 cars!? would have thought they sold more than that.....LOL

good point, but he may also then want to go a little higher in the rear, which can compenstae for a softer rear bar

Then he could add my lower tie bars to complete the package.

well guys...In comes the donor car....
I picked up a white 91' 323 ....needs a little bit of work done to it still but hey what car doesn't....
Only cost me a thousand. it came with the 14" protege alloy rims, a new front windsheild, all new brakes all the way around(a shame too... since i won't be needing them... after the 1.8l DOHC LX protege conversion.

OH and yeah...
Darryl....those lower tiebars are definitly going on...
planning on doing it all in one big project though....still need all new all around calipers, H&R lowering springs,a rebuilt/j-yard tranny (whichever comes first), a new gas tank from the protege since its half a gallon bigger, suspension techniques swaybar kit is still in question though, and while im at it I might as well replace the struts with upgraded versions as well as get the cusco front camber plates..... Im sure theres a lot more that i'll need to get still.....JUST means putting in more hours at work

and once the strut tower bars that your making come through darryl...I'll nab some of those up as well.

I'll keep everyone informed....
