1993 Mazda Protege Wont start

My car was working fine, I drove it on Friday, On saturday I try starting it, it just wont start, I heer clicking noise and beyond that nothing. I checked if it was Battery but no, Battery is fine (bought a battery charger and it states within a minute that the battery is charged), Oil is fine. I had a similar problem couple of years ago, and the repair man said he cleaned the Solenoid. Where can I find the Solenoid on Mazda Protege 1993 Model. I dont have the Jack to lift it up, Can it be accessed from the Top. I opened the Distributor Cap, Spark Plugs etc all seem OK. I hoep to fix it myself to spare some cash on this old car. All help appreciated.

Thanks

TP

The clicking indicates an operational solenoid.

Remove cables from battery and fully clean them.
If this doesn't work my quess is the starter.

Best Regards

It sounds like you're right. Try replacing the solenoid. It's easy on the BG.

finging the solenoid is easy it's right on top of the starter but you will need to get under the car.

The answers we gave you were taking into account that you had already checked the battery and it worked fine. We thought you had already done that. We're all happy you got the car going without all the work of having to change the starter.
