The North American AWD drivetrain is weak, it was built for Asia-Pacific cars with even weaker engines than the B8.
The only performance upgrades would be importing GTX or GTR parts from overseas.

Depending on the 4wd system, if the car is based on the BG series, it should have a LSD rear diff and the front gearbox on the n/a is fully open with a locking switch...

the GTX/GTR have a LSD transfer so if u want, one of those gearboxes will drop straight in.... u may need new shafts and a new tail shaft... but the mounts are the same....

we have the boxes here for AU$1200

if u want to do the GTX swap, u may as well get a frount cut and use the box and shafts from that, and u get biger brakes....

then all u will have to worry about is a tail shaft and thats a maybe....they could be the same im not too sure...
