Beep Beep
Hello, I just got my 93 Protege and look forward to playing around with modifications. As for now, I would like to get my horn to work. Does anyone know where, or if thereis a relay that might be bad? I think the horn itself is behind the left headlight? THANKS

i don't think there is a relay but there is a fuse. check the fuse and make sure its good. if the fuse is good then check to see if you have power in the wires going to the horn and make sure u have a good ground. if fuse is good and u have power and a good ground then your horn is bad.

i'm not sure if it is a common problem but i have had problems with my horn before. the foam in between the 2 metal plates got worn and allowed the 2 plates to touch with out pressing the button. i had to fix this quick since i could be driving down the road and if i press the brakes to hard the horn would sound. this one is easy to fix with just some foam strips.

there is in fact a horn relay, it's above the fuse box in the cluster of about 5 or 6 other relays. The horn is located behind and under the passenger side corner lamp. Never had a problem with mine....in most cases it's the horn itself. If when you hit the horn button and you still hear the relay clicking, but no sound, it's a bad horn. If no clicking, maybe a bad relay or the horn switch in the steering wheel itself. By jumping 12v+ to the single horn wire AT THE HORN ITSELF WITH A 10AMP FUSE INLINE, will tell you if the horn is working or not.

Almost as funny as this old station wagon that I saw pulling out of a parking spot the other day. it's a normal car, ugly sure, (a domestic) but it had the horn beeping that the huge trucks have when they back up, you know what I'm talking about right?
