Cooling fan

My cooling fan in my car will not kick on. I changed the thermostate yesterday and got everything back on properly, and the fan won't kick on. I had to disconnect the sensor from the thermostate housing, is that my problem? I have it back on.

UPDATE::::
Found the problem i do believe. The sensor that connects to the plug on my thermo housing, it broke off the wire just now. Would that be why my fan won't kick on?? Where can I get one of these. Is there a way to open it and reattatch the wire?? In dire need of assistance- plz help

the sensor that screws into the end of your thermostat housing is the sensor that turns the fan on. mine broke a few weeks ago, i picked one up from an autoparts store for like $20. it just screws in. good luck.

well, i called a mazda dealer (the only one in the area) and they said they had my sensor (the part that connects to that plug) but it was $50. I went to a junk yard, found an mx6 and oulled one out of there, practically brand new. Everything is running good, and to the mark. Thanks guys.
