curious to know what engine oil you guys use

Yeah, another Amsoil-sponsored test. You can find similar tests from other manufacturers, and in each, the sponsored oil wins. Not to say that Amsoil isn't a good oil... But even Amsoil has different qualities of oil, and differing prices.
I can't wait for our local Amsoil dealers to chime in (it seems like there is always one on every board I'm on).
And Darryl, it's not that I don't have a funnel. I just prefer not to use one. One less thing to clean up, and one less source of contamination (from dirt) for the oil.
And who was it that decided synthetic oil wasn't coming out of the bottle fast enough, and they needed to make the opening bigger than would fit in any oil fill? And flows faster than any funnel will flow?

I use 20/50 it keeps it quiet but last week i tryed 10w-30 and damn is it annoying sounds like a kid running down a fence with a stick. I just dont like how slow the car starts with 20/50 and the winter is coming so i will deal with the clicking for the first few miles intill spring .....then the GTR motor goes in :-)..Jon 93 lx

i use penzoil 5-30. in the winter time or a cold day that rains, i hear clickin while the cars idle. when i step on the gas it clicks until like 800rpm and goes away. i have 91k miles on my car, is it a good idea to switch to 10-30???

Anyone else have any comments about switching to synthetics at 155K miles? Like the previous poster, I've been told I shouldn't do it either. On my first oil change since I bought the car at 153K, I used 10w30 Durablend (semi-syn). I really noticed how much quieter the engine was. I used to have a bit of lifter tap when I first started it for like 10 seconds, that's gone too. I'd like to go full syn on my next change, Mobil 1, maybe even Redline.

My brother had to put 3 engines in his Miata (1.6) because of that in the last year.
