I've also heard the same thing. But I saw a 91 Miata, which has a similar ECU as the Proteges, being tuned on the dyno with an SAFC. It ran out of injector, as it got seriously lean around 5000RPM and 100whp. The SAFC intercepts the AFM signal, and bending that signal is no different than adjusting flapper door tension.

It worked really nice in my car. Tuned in a few more tenths with more boost at the same time. But never really got to put it to the limit. I no longer have that set up and i am not working on that car any more. So i dont know how far you can take a car with the SAFC before you make to much power for it and need a EMS system.

Ford Focus SVT

I saw a Ford Focus SVT running 15.5 at the quarter mile.

Taking in consideration the new SVT has oversized valves, more aggresive cams from factory, bigger displacement (2.0) compared to a 1.8 first gen Protege with stock head running 15.7 I think is pretty good.

Go check out how much a factory eclipse does, 14 highs or 15 lows. So, to be fractions of a second which if this would be racing that means a car or half a car behind, we are talking pretty good numbers then.

A RSX S does around 15.2 and a GSR maybe 15 flat and this are no driving Miss Daisy...

rsx's are slow too. my friend has a type-s with intake ,exhuast, and a vtec controller and i still walked him all day long in my p5 wagon and that was with a blown turbo.

15s are fast for your car, but in the scheme of cars in general it is slow.scion tc's, sentra SER V-spec,04 civic SI, all run in the 15s..... does that mean they are fast tooo. i think not. when almost all new cars run 15s all day long from the factory, then 15 becomes average, not fast

Well if he spent 5 gran for a turbo then you'd be eating dust all day...he only have basic bolt ons you can't compare your turbo'd p5 w/ that. stock to stock it'll kill you. RSX is fast but not the fastest put that K20 on a EK then you'd be running 12's w/ basic bolt ons.
