Finally mid 16's
I am still not sure how but yesterday when I was making my last run before going home at the LACR 1/4 mile made it in 16.681 @ 80.7 MPH, I only got the chance to run 3 times. It was crouded and some car spilled oil on the strip so we had to wait like 20 min.
Besides I got there late due to traffic from L.A to Palmdale. My first run was with a Jetta V6, he had his hood open showing off his big *** engine. So off we went and I was ahead of him by about half a car when he pulled ahead of me, smelled like bottle to me........ I made it in 17.128, with a reaction time of 1.098. Then my second run was with a Acura Integra VTECH, and made it in 17.033, reaction time was 0.973 I wasn't gonna let the Integra leave me far behind and he didn't, we were about one car of difference, The guy looked at me like what the f....? and the 3rd run was again with the evil Jetta. I got to the yellow lights,(thinking this time I'm gonna kick some ***) got the engine @ 4000 rpm waiting for the green light and then ZOOM all the way down the 1/4 mile... now I'm sure about the bottle, The jetta again pulled ahead mysteriously.....But anyways to my surprise I made it in 16.681, this time with a reaction time of 0.732
I came back all the way back home with a smile on my face.....

I know it's the way to go but I want to see how far I can go with a N/A engine. If I can get to the mid 16's with a crappy clutch and almost with a stock engine I wonder what I can do with headers, fuel pressure reg, high flow cat converter, CAI system, maybe adjustable cam gears, a good clutch, bored throttle body, mmmmmmm what else?

You could get some pistons (maybe from Flyin Miata) that are about 11:1.... and some nice rods..... Port and polishing.....light flywheel....
Those would get ya some impressive times!! Good Luck to ya bro!!

With the stock ECU, probably 145-150 at the crank. Figure 125-130 at the wheels. With TEC-II/Haltech, different intake, P&P, and cams, probably as much as 180 hp or so.
