Idle jump when shifting
Before any of you even have a chance to give me sh*t, yes I have too much time on my hands.
Last night, I was in the drive thru line a Taco Bell for 30 min. In that time, I noticed something I'm embarrased to say, I never noticed before. I've had this car 3 years this month, and I couldn't believe it. Have any of you guys noticed the idle jump when choosing a gear (LX 5-speed)? Try this little experiment. Once the car has a normal idle (@750-850), push in the clutch. Nutin should happen. Then, put it in any gear, doesn't have to be first. The idle goes up to about 1200 (to help prevent stalling on take off)! It's little things like this that keep the Japanese cars ahead of the Americans.
