Exclamation Need some help car dies (1st gen)

Ok yesterday I was heading into town and at every intersection the car died. but then restarted with no problems. but ran at 500 rpms. then when I got to another stop light it would die again. until i got to the store which is about 8 miles from my home. left the car for about 20mins and started it back up and no problems. was runing fine. The car was running at temp before it died the first time. Any ideas? this is the second day in a row that it has done this to me. Thought you guys could solve the problem faster then i could so thats why im asking. thanks.

It could be anything, but it seems that it has problems with keepig correct idle-it falls too low and it stalls. I would try to clean throttle body with TB claner and toothrush. In the past after really good cleaning my idle was almost at 1000 rpm and I had to put it down, but it never stalled after it got dirty again.
Idle speed can be adjusted as well, but I forgot, which terminals in diagnostic plug to short. Maybe someone can help with that. But you can raise it a bit anyway-ther's a screw on top of TB.
If it doesn't help-go to mechanic.
