rough start/idle in morning...
This morning I started the car, and it started idling pretty bad. The car was shaking, and it seemed like everytime the engine turned over, it was going to die. So, I stomped on the gas pedal to try and clear it's throat a few times, and a bit of blue smoke came out the back ( I know a bit of oil was the cause of that ). Just about a minute later, it started to idle somewhat okay. My wife commented that it has been a long time since I replaced the oil (maybe 5000 miles), and she is right, but I don't think that would cause this problem. When I drove to work, it seemed fine. I didn't notice any loss of power (not that I expected any loss of power), although it has been running a tad rough the last few weeks (I can feel vibration at varying speeds of the engine from the gas pedal and shifter).
I know that rushing home last night probably helped bring the problem up.
I was at a game center with a friend when I realized that I needed to get home by 1am (I managed to get out of the parking lot like 12:40). I sped up so that I would make it by 1am. I landed up driving about an average of ~105mph.
I'm guessing the 10min of 100+mph didn't do too well for the valve guide seals. Would the seals be the problem?
This is an engine I bought from K Watanabe. They said it had 50-55k miles on it.
Any ideas or suggestions will be appreciated.
If the engine does the same thing tomorrow morning, then I'll be concerned.
Thanks in advance.

geh. anything I could do to help it not drink oil?
Just asking because I have a second engine which I plan to build up while I'm using the current engine in the car. If there's anything I can do (diff pistons, which I plan to do; diff rings, head, etc..), I would like to know now. I don't want to build a wicked engine and then always have to put in a quart here and there. "Oh yeah, man. I built this kick-*** engine. Course, I have to put in a quart every-so-often."
Though, I would put up with it rather than having to dump a load of cash for an F-engine and to build it up.

I had that problem once 4b. It was the oil pan gasket going bad and it leaked onto my clutch and cuase it to slip. The clutch was fine but I didn't know that until it was tow down. but that was the only way for me to find out about it.

Well, I started the engine this morning, and everything was fine. I think it was the matter of me driving 100+mph for over 10 minutes that night.
The engine has been running fine all day.
Oh well.
Oh. BTW, very funny, Menace.
