What are some mods for the GTX engine?
#17
I get the impression that the GTX turbo is thought of as being too small for drag racing applications.. but what about AutoX or daily driving applications? In those cases, especially with autocross, wouldn't the VJ20 actually be a little better for its earlier and quicker spooling? Optimally, of course, would be a turbo that spools up at like 2500rpm, and continues boosting until redline with no plateau, but that's not particularly realistic...

(someone say they dont believe me so i can go get the timeslip from ERDT lol) The next logical upgrade is to find a VJ-23 and slap her on there. (its what the guy whos escort im talking about is doing, he works at corksport so you might know him, Chris Giles I think his name is)Sure you could build then engine more first, but you could be hitting 12s in no time just by slapping on the VJ-23.

i was just at CS while chris was upgrading his engine. he threw on a cylinder head from a escort gt and i believe added the vj-23 as well.
how bad is the lag from that tho?
