1.5 Intake

Are there anyother intakes besides the Ractive for the 1.5L (96 LX)? And is the Ractive really as shitty as everyone says it is?

The shitty part about the Ractive intake is the stock filter.
which you can overcome like I did with an aftermarket filter..

as in the pic

So basically the ractive is fine as long as I get a different filter... what filter does it take??

Any 3" cone filter will do. Personally I don't see why the Ractive is considered shitty. Its just an ordinary cone filter with a "heatshield" on it. Hose clamp some dryer duct on it and run it through your fender and you'll be pulling in colder air.

I used a WeaponR dragon filter on my mx-6 with their plastic heatsheild. Works excellent.

that filter with the heat shield does not come with the intake ,, the filter that comes with the intake is really shitty ,
But the intake itself is great .. to me anyway

www.essentialspeed.com has a cold-air intake for all 2gen motors. The cost is $300 CDN and includes a genuine K&N Invert filter...for pics, check out my site at www.sounddomain.com/id/kdawgone

the reactive is always dumped on since it makes a 90' bend at the manifold enterence, but in the case of 2nd gens theres no real alternative option since the brake booster/master cylinder are in the way.

however, you can do what I did and go to home depot, have some steel or pvc tubes bent and make your own for under 100 bucks. those rubber hose connectors and steel ties can be found at many hardware stores and online super cheap, too. then pickup a nice 3" inlet K&N and strap it on for the ride. secure the MAF sensor to the tube, then use one of the 2 bolt holes already in the MAF body to connect a steel ladder bar to the frame about 5" below its location. there is a hole there where the battery mounts.
