1.5l Drivetrain Parts Wanted

Sup guys, it's about time I finally start becoming active in the posts. Anyways, I am lookin for performance parts that I swore I saw. Such as, Flywheel for a 1.5l protege. Adjustable Camgears and such other bolt-on's that may cost a pretty penny! Well, here's the list of the parts I am plannin to buy.

Venom High Performance Air Mass Sensor - DOHC 1.5L
MAZDASPEED Adjustable cam gear 1.5 DOHC
I swore i once saw a flywheel for the car and a stage 1 clutch ain't going to be hard to find!

I am not too sure about the Flywheel or the Venom Air Mass sensor, but I know this: the adjustable cam gear is NOT a performance enhancer. It only restores cam's original position/alignment, but does not give you power.
As for Venom, I have contacted them before, and from the brief explaination that I got, it is more useful if you have a turbo/NOS installed on your car, i.e. something like engine managment, in a way.

Thanks for clearing up the camgear question. Someone i talked to said that it could give me power.. but he said thats for honda motors. I don't know why i thought there was a flywheel. I had some thought i seen it. I probably did but at the usual pages I check up on, i see nothing on a flywheel. And on the air mass sensor information, it says it can increase up to 15% extra hp.

mazdaspeed adj. cam gear

this should be able to give you some power. might be helpful to dyno-tune this cam gear to your car. i wouldn't know what to set the cam gear on though(-5 to +5 degrees)...? could be worth a try, especially if boosted or on nos.

Aluminum Flywheel for 1.5l. YES!!!
I didn't know anyone made them for 1.5. I heard that a car accelerates much faster with a aluminum flywheel and that it would be wise to invest money in this.
Anybody know more about this?

Ya aluminum flywheels help out alot. From what I hear, for everypound the flywheel loses then 2 hp is added. Someone told me that some flywheels can weight like 18 pounds lol. So if you get a 10 pound flywheel. You can probably have a gain of 16 hp? Thats from my understanding. You can probably learn more through the other users.

How much does the flywheel cost, and does anyone have a ballpark of the cost for labor to install it in the car?

Adjustable cam gears won't necessarily give you more power, but rather move where you're making peak power and torque higher or lower in the RPM range.

For a lot of good lightened flywheel pro/con discussion, I direct you to this thread:

http://www.mx6.com/forums/showthread...threadid=67435

Its meant for the 1st gen Mx-6, but the concept is universal.
