Cams and intake manifold

Cams and intake manifold
I want to get my cams regrinded, but I cant find a website to get more info about it. Does anybody know where I can get them regrinded? Also does anybody know if I could use cams from a 1.6 liter in my 1.5? ALSO does anybody know any info on intake manifolds. Are there any manifolds out there that might bolt up to our engines? Like a venom intake manifold for example?

uhh, Jesse. On this website http://www.venom-performance.com/NF/T/manifold.htm It says that it can be used on naturally aspirated or under forced induction. SO, that means I could use it on my N/A engine. So, would It fit on my 1.5?

actually, mazdaspeed makes an adjustable cam gear for the intake cam on the 1.5L
thats good for about 3-5hp if tuned properly on a dyno
you arent going to get too much power from that engine
and even if u do get the cams regrinded, and the intake manifold ported and polished, and the head ported and polished with a 3 angle valve job, u will be in the hole a couple grand, and u will have around the same amount of power as the 1.8, except u will most likely have less torque
most economic choice would be to put a 1.8L in
then fix that up

Well I know that it would be easier to put in the 1.8L or the 1.8 L BPT, and I plan on doing that (as you can see at the bottom of all my posts) but I just wanted to mess around with my 1.5 for a little while.

if u want to screw around with the 1.5, and u dont care about spendin some cash..
u already have ur intake and exhaust
make the intake a true cold air
get ur pipes done with a highflow cat
get the adjustable cam gear and an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, and have it tuned on a dyno
tuning it on a dyno is actually very important with those 2 products because if u dont u can ruin drivability and u will not maximize ur power
get a msd ignition and high performance coil
get high performance plug wires
have ur intake manifold ported and polished..
then im sure the car will be a lot faster, and it will be interesting to see how it responded to those modifications

Pigeon, you must be reading my mind or something, because I have been thinking about doing all of that stuff for a while.
Actually I already have a custom made CAI pipe, I just bought the Ractive pipe to see how it felt. I have a high flow cat on back order. I am highly thinking of getting my cams regrinded, and my intake manifold ported and polished. Also I wanted to get a custom header made. I dont know yet though. I just have a need for speed, and I dont know if I should wait and get the BPT or just mess around with what I have for now. I still have some thinking to do.

hehe, i know where ur coming from man..
i got the same lawnmower engine
i have spend many hours building a true cold air for my car and it works great
i have my muffler and i removed my resonator
eventually im going to get my pipes replaced with mandral bent ones
in a couple days i will have my ngk plug wires
the car responds well, but its still slow
at first i wanted to do all the things that u are thinking about doing, but after doing the math, i realized that i would then be on par with a 1.8L except the 1.8 will most likely still have more torque
so for now im just going to leave this motor alone
and if i decide to and i have the cash, i will swap in a 1.8L, then go nuts with that
another option for the 1.5L would be to send ur ECU out to Jet Performance and they will reprogram it
and u could get a small dry shot nitrous kit
but I wouldnt recommend anything more than a 40hp jetting
