cone or flat
i want to change my stock air filter. i went to the store to see about a K&n filter and it is a flat one, similar to my stock one. i was wondering if there is a difference in performance between the cone and flat filters and if i could put a cone one on my ride. also if anyone has suggestions as to which company i should buy. thanks.

The cone filter will result in better airflow, but you'll have to take out your airbox, and buy an intake adapter if the cone doesn't come with one.
A drop-in is simple and easy as can be, but it won't breathe as well as a cone filter.

its not that the flat filter is any more restictive that the cone one, its just that the stock air box is very restrictive, and in order to put on the cone one, the box must be removed
also, just letting u know that if u were to build ur own intake, you should try to find a place where cold air resides..
like where the factory resonator is

i dont have any links on how to build one..
i built mine from scratch
it works great though, i could notice the difference at all RPM's
about ur warranty, the way it works is that if the new product has caused a problem with the car, u must pay for the necessary repairs, but it wont completely void ur warranty
for things like lowering ur car and **** like that
who cares about the warranty
its very rare u need to use ur suspension and corrosion warranty
the powertrain is the one u gotta look out for
but with an intake, just have a different dealer service ur car while the intake is on
if u ever encounter a problem, swap back to factory and go back to the original dealer
just make sure ur neat so they cant retrace ur footsteps
