gearbox

today i went by this guy that wrecks cars and he has a 1991 323 that is totalled, well i was talking to him and he says he wud part with everything gearbox related (linkages, mounts, pedals, clutch pressure plate, etc etc for 1000bbd (500us) will this work in my 1996 mazda protege which is currently in auto form?
are these manual boxes good? the 323 engine is a 1600 and its a 5 speed gearbox and my car is a 1.5 auto

You should try doing a search on this, or look in the Forum FAQ, cause i remember reading about this somewhere.

uhhh,,, not sure... The mounts may not be the same you know... on the Tranny..
See if the mounts will line up...
I know with my 323 ... I noticed 1 or 2 things that were a little different , but I did not really eye ball everything ...
That schemi is for the 2nd gen pro .. so You can print that out .... Go look at the 323 then see what can be worked out...
Honestly it may be better to find a wrecked 2nd gen and raid that sucer ..
