KL-ZE V6 Swap in G2 Proteges....final verdict?
Well,
I've called A-Spec just now concerning their website claim of the KL-ZE V6 swap into our Proteges. They told me straight up (not quite nicely mind you), that it cannot be done. "Engine bay is too small." they say. So, first off, I'd like to apologize to Jason (jayermesh19) - if I came off sounding too harsh. Although, I still do think that this swap can still be done (for a good price). There are a few more reputable shops in Toronto that are a bunch of Mazda freaks, so I'll be calling them later this week.
On another note, I found something interesting in A-Spec's website. They somehow managed to stick this lip on a 2nd Gen bumper:
That's a MX-3 lip on a 2nd Gen bumper. Very nice, IMO. Cost? Unpainted, it comes to $200CDN plus tax. Painting is an extra $80CDN. Now, I did ask for side skirts and rear skirts, and he basically gave me a half-A$$ed answer: $300CDN for side skirts, $200 Rear skirt. From the way it looks, it doesn't look like a lot of work. In fact, that might be my first mod for my car.
So, at least something good came out of the conversation...
Regards,
Oz

where else are these Mazda freaks in T.? I frequently work in the GTA area, and am looking for parts to supe up my 2G pro.. It would sure save money if it was local instead of US shipping.. i'm doing my car over the winter, since my job provides a van for me.. Any help would be sweet....
