Need performance parts for Z5 1.5L engine
Looking for good horsepower upgrades for my 98 1.5L Protege LX
Want to rebuild my whole engine from top to bottom with performance parts.
Distributor, camshafts, crankshaft, pistons, rods, rings, valves & springs, oil pump, pulleys, ignition, cooling, head, throttle body, upgrades on transmission, and anything else you can think of.
Have had a hard time finding performance parts for this engine so i'm looking to you guys for help.
Looking to build maybe a 300+ hp all motor protege.
If you can help leave a website of name so i can get these parts.
Thanks you guys!

Good luck.
Cams you'll have to get custom ground.
Headwrok well... any decent performance machine shop can do it. Pistons will have to be custom but they can still be had for fairly cheap.
Your options are very limited with this engine. I'd go for a BP swap if I wwere you.

Just got through talking with Bill at Import Performance Parts and he says all i have to do is send them my engine give them the specs i want and have a bit of money and they will build me a 300hp or more motor. And from the quote he gave me the whole job ain't really all that expensive if you compare to just adding a turbo or doing an engine swap

you could spend some money and make it a lot more strong:
http://www.importperformanceparts.ne...pek-mazda.html
have it 76.3 mm bored and increase compression to 10.5:1
