Unhappy RPM IDLE Problem

I'm havin a Problem with my Car. It looks like I have a lost of Power, the Car shakes and I see that the RPM Idle bounces a little bit down and back up on Drive, and sometimes it seems to die on me when I'm stoping on a red light. I have no clue what it is. not more than 6 months ago I did a tuneup on it, changed everything, platinum spark plugs, new cables, rotor , cap, etc.. and before this it was just starting to doit but I see that is going a little more and more every day. I've taken the car to mechanic but doesn't find what it is( Should I say Mechanic? lol) . Ill take any suggestions before ill take it to the Mazda Dealer for a check up, before they charge me highn $$$$$......... Thx

I have the same poblem on a 98 lx. No clue what it is, someone said the fuel filter was clogged, replaced it, no help. If you find out lrt me know!!!
The idle was the first thing I thought of but I have not played with that because some days it runs great and others it acts up!
No clue.
Good Luck!

this is a common problem with 1.5L protege's , wheather that problem persists on 1.8's I dunno but I do know that it happens in my car, mainly cause I have a set of 80 watt fog lights , 80 watt headlamps, and also the stereo system

I have no extras pulling any power from the engine. Will anything correct it?

Could I say it may be the Altenator?
some say is the Fuel filter, other say by adjusting the throttle, the throttle i dont think so that will just get a higher rpm but in my case the Idle will still be bouncing and shaking.

cost around $200 including labor to fix. o2 sensors go around $50 - $100...you can do it yourself and isnt hard at all.

damn same here for my 97 Kia Sephia (1.8L). I changed the fuel filter, new plugs, new wires, new air filter, adjusted idle, everything. if i stop REAL fast at a light or sign, the engine stumbles occassionally and sometimes it just stumbles SO bad that it dies. I restart and it works fine.

I had the same problem in my 98 dx. I had to take it to
the dealer several times. I first noticed the rpm drop
when I got the car inspected, they list rpm's.

The problem was the throttle body sticking or being dirty,
at about 12000 miles. Go figure...... I did, prior to problem
appearing put a bottle of fuel injector cleaner in the tank.
It may have caused the problem, dunno. Havent done it since
and idle is still stable....

They tried to adjust the reactence sensor for loads but that
didnt work either. The symptoms were stalling when
puling up to the light, low idle speed, stalling when rocking the
steering wheel at a standstill..

check your base idle be jumping a wire across the "ten" and "grd" pins in the dianostic connector by the drivers strut tower. Adjust the idle bt turning the air screw on the throttle body.
