Transmission issues with BP engine swap

Ok, first off, this is my first time to post anything on this website. (however I look at it like everyday, as it is very helpful) Now I have a problem. I have a 1995 Protege LX that I have put some mods on even though my car has almost 160,000 miles on it! Anyway, I wanted to know if my Transmission would bolt directly to the the new BP engine I plan to get. It has the G series since it was built in 95 instead of the F series tranny. Once I get the engine I can stop complaining about my high mileage, but for the meantime, please tell me everything I need to make this swap work. (I am new to proteges and to this website, so please bear with me) Any help is appreciated. Thanks alot.

go to the engine drive train section bruce is doing a very comprehensive post on the swap and you only have the g series tranny if you already have a 1.8L from what i was told

If you plan to bolt the engine up to your current tranny then it will install with no problems , However with the G tranny , I am not sure as yet whether the axles are different .... Damn and I was in the mazda dealer today and I could have asked them ... They love me at the dealer lol, ...

its all good

The axles, I found out work fine. This is good since I just purchased a new driver's side CV axle to replace mine that just went out. Not bad for almost 162k! Anyway the protege is pretty bad shape right now. Coolant leak is like a fountain. Oh man. Oh well Im getting that new engine so no need for harcore repair right now. From what I am reading online, this whole swap seems direct with the exception of air sensor and wiring harness. Im using my old tranny until I can afford a new one as I just had some work done on it. (a new clutch too)

The wire harness should not be a big problem .. I am mainly waiting to get my 323 on the road before pulling the 1.5L ... that is my only delay , in the case of something happening , I can't be without a car.. but anyway .... I am using the kia sephia harness , and also the MAS is different for the BP .. you can get all this on www.car-part.com .. just make sure it is for the 1.8 DOHC motor not the 1.5L motor .... the Kia sephia uses the same MAS sensor also.. and also a certain year MPV and mazda miata (1.6 I think) .If you use your current tranny and axles you should have nooooo problem .. just pull the motor , change the wire harness take off the accesories and bolt the tranny on ... The starter should be the same ... I will find out and post ..
