1.5L can have a performance CHIP
Hey all,
I told owners of MX-3 1.6 that I could get a chip for them. Its a company in Brazil making chips for several models, VW, GM, Fiat, audi, BMW, renault, mazda, etc.
price is about U$100
One of the technichian from the company told me that they DO NOT carry chip for proteges, HOWEVER, there is a possibility to remap the OE chip. In order to do that, they will need a ECU to open and play with it.
Anyrate, we could be looking to some extra HP and torque for our 1.5 proteges or you with 1.6 or you with 1.8 (I would say 8-10%). Only we know how rare are parts for ours cars (1.5). Here is a nice chance, for considerably low cost.
I am going to brazil on december 17 for vacation and could bring they an ECU so that they could check it out. I know that is not everybody who has an extra ECU in the garage rolling back and forth, but it would be nice to use this group to reach someone in outhere who may have it so that I could take with me.
Up to you guys,
peace,
