Hey Everyone-
I'm in the market for a 2nd gen, hopefully a 96/7 ES model.

They seem to be harder to find than the LX...I know the major difference is the motor..can any one give insight on the LS vs. ES, and any of the years between 95-97?

I'm in the range of 4,500 MAX and in the Socal. Area..

Good luck finding one in this area. I saw a fully-loaded '95 ES when they first came out, and have only seen one since. When I went car shopping in '98, several Mazda dealers said that they hadn't had one in stock for years (or even ordered one). But if I bought one, they'd be happy to order one from Japan (6-12 weeks, making payments all the while), as there weren't any in the system (dealer locate) in June of '98.

The 2nd-gen ES was a highly reviewed car, but the stupid dealers wouldn't order them, as they didn't think they could sell a $16k small car (which Honda, Toyota, Saturn, etc. could).

 

I have a 1997 protege lx fs. Power everything including sunroof. CD PLayer. Navy blue. Problem is.... its in michigan. Lemme look at shipping prices. I might be willing to let it go for 4700$ Shipped
