Reliable, maybe. As for the mods, you won't be able to find anything but a CAI, and I think cams, that is it. Everything else would have to custom made. I have 1.5 my self, and trust I have looked around. Also, do some search in here as well. I would suggest 1.8 Liter instead, there are turbo parts for it out there, pullies, cams, and all.

most definately try to get the 1.8 liter ES model. You can get the 1.5, but as far as performance goes its a "No no." Even if you did everything to it (except turbo) you would still only end up with about 150 horses, and you would have paid more in mods than you did on the car itself.

yep, i'm afraid the guys are right. i owned a 1.5 for a while and you are gonna spend plenty of money dropping in basically a front cut from a 1.8es if you want anything useful.

sure you can do it if you get the 1.5 for a decent price but its gonna be a pile of work.......

as for modification of the z5 engine....everything will be custom, its all about the money.

STAY AWAY FROM THE 1.5L LAWNMOWER ENGINE!!!!!
If you are just looking for a good gas mileage engine with no preformance the go for the 1.5L. If you are looking for Preformance AND good gas mileage go with the 1.8L..
