Tail light problems...

Has any experienced a problem with your tail lights not working properly...? Basically, my friend's tail lights are all lit up faintly including his 3rd brake light, when the lights are on ofcourse. Once he hits the brakes all the rear lights go out except for the 3rd brake light, that lights up brighter.

Just wondering what could be causing this... It's not the fuse that's been replaced. The only thing I can think of is a short somewhere. We're at a loss here any and all help would be appreciated...

I've had the same problem. I usually replace the left tail-light on a monthy basis. Maybe I should bring it to the Mazda Dealer and have the electrical system checked...

Nah, it doesn't take much money to replace the bulb (I do it myself)...it's just annoying.

look at your fuse boxes. replace the light fuses if needed. check your wiring, from the car to the wiring harness of the light, something could be loose and/or disconnected.

the brake light bulb is of a double contact type..basically, there are two filaments in there..one for the park light, the other for the brake lights..in rare times, both brake light filaments of both lights go out..check if the bulbs are busted..if yes, replace them.
