It probably could if you REALLY wanted to, but it would cost you so much to get all the modifications done, like custom engine mounts, wire harness, and all other electrical stuff. In my opinion, it is not worth it. Look into 2nd Gen Engine/Performance and you will find a lot of info of Bruce's car. He is swapping his 1.5L for 1.8L BP engine, that he will later turbocharge. that is one of those not for sure things that you would have to take your chances and solve problems as you go along ... If you are doing the install yourself and are willing to risk it then more power to you
ohh and you better be speaking of the 2.0 and not the 1.6
