Is it a quick and easy procedure? Any benefit?

If you're only talking about removing the little box on the intake pipe and not changing any other part of the intake, the answer is no. It's there to increase midrange torque. Removing it will reduce mid-range power. The reasons why are too complicated to explain here

Thanks Chris.

I am going to wait and install a short ram intake.
