So how exactly will these underdrive pullys help our Proteges?

they are lighter and turn your accessories slower. They reduce the amount of drag on the motor and help free up some of the power in the system...NOT RECOMMENDED for people with upgraded stereos or dependent on your aC....since it slows down your AC and Alternator you won't get the same output you're used to.

If you HAVE to get one of these I'd get the crank pulley and save your moeny for something else.

naw...Just a matter of unbolting the pulleys as far as i know...you may need a puller "puller"..they are cheap and easy to use though, and SRM supplies the new size belt too, so no worries there

i HIGHLY doubt you'll free up 7-9hp just from some pulleys. You'd be better off to spend that $400 on a small dry nitrous kit. That would be some serious bang-for-your-buck.

I hope you are joking about the dry nitrous kit. They do not work on our cars. I say go for the pulleys, I am as soon as I get some extra cash. It should be a safe way to get some more power before installing a turbo.

with 2000 watts of sound that wouldn't be a wise idea.... you've already got your alternator most likely maxed out.... underdriving it will lower its output.

I'm moving away from the sound and thinking about putting all my components into my girllfriends car. I have capacitors to handle the demand for power. Very observant of you proto-j

Well, it is one of my biggest problems at the moment. I have not bought a cap yet, and I am only running one amp, but I still notice a slight dimming of my headlights, and its annoying.
